Prospector 1 to move and locate on the Sean Romeo Block 49/25 for Well Plug and abandonment activities for approx 90 days

The Prospector 1 is a Non-Production Installation (MODU jack-up) which will be cantilevered over the Sean Romeo well bay.

It will be on location approximately 90 days during which time ONE-Dyas will be utilising the Prospector 1 for accommodation and completing plugging & abandoning of the wells on the SEAN Romeo platform. It will be towed to the location by three tugs, pulled into final position on anchors and jacked up (air gapped) as per the rig move and positioning program. A dedicated Emergency Response & Rescue Vessel (ERRV) will guard the 500 m safety zone. The Prospector 1 is equipped with navigational aids and lighting, AIS, radio and 24/7 manned radio room. To prevent confusion it is proposed that Romeo Navigation aids will be turned off, and Prospector 1 navigation aids will be used.

Decommissioning operations - Spirit Energy A-Fields and Ensign Field Decommissioning

Spirit Energy has contracted the Deep Ocean - operated Normand Jarstein) construction support vessel (CSV) to undertake further decommissioning activities - the removal of redundant subsea infrastructure - in the A-Fields and in the Ensign field, located in the southern North Sea. The fields formerly produced natural gas and condensate.

The CSV is scheduled to mobilise in Peterhead as soon as 7th October, and to commence removal operations in the fields as soon as 10th October 2023. The operations are expected to take approximately 71 days in total.

The operations will take place at the Ann, Alison and Annabel subsea installations, and also at the former locations of the Audrey A, Audrey B and Ensign platforms, and are scheduled to commence during late Q3 2023 and to continue, depending on the amount of weather-related down time, through to as late as January 2024.

Note that while the jackets and topsides of the Audrey A and Audrey B platforms and the Ensign platform were successfully removed during July 2023, remnant subsea structures exist within the footprint of where each platform jacket formerly stood (awaiting removal by the CSV).

All operations  (other than vessel transits) will take place within the HSE-recognised 500 m safety zones that remain established at the former location of each platform, and at the subsea installations.

CNOOC plan to conduct pipeline tie-in and commissioning activities at the Buzzard NTM which will involve tying in two new production wells  to the existing subsea manifold.  As part of this scope, new production and gas lift spools, as well as a control umbilical (consisting of a bundle of a hydraulic flying lead and two electrical flying leads) will be installed between each of the production wells to the NTM.  Activities will also include commissioning of the Xmas Trees (XTs) for the wells. The surface laid spool pieces and control umbilical's will be installed and tied in from the Seven Kestrel DSV DSV.  The DSV will also install concrete mattresses.  All work scopes will be conducted by divers and all operational activities will take place within the 500 m exclusion zone of the Buzzard NTM.
