IRM survey - Bacton to Sean field export pipeline (PL311) and inter-field and platform locations



Extension of period for the IRM / Sean Platforms survey. The Sean IRM survey will be surveyed using MBES, TSS pipe tracker and video survey. It will cover:- Bacton to Sean Papa export pipeline (PL311), Sean Romeo to Papa inter-field Pipeline (PL310) and areas around the Sean Papa and Sean Romeo platforms. It will be performed by survey vessel Deep Vision.


The Sean export pipeline (PL311) will be surveyed using MBES, TSS pipe tracker and video survey performed by survey vessel Deep Vision. The vessel will mobilise to the UK pipeline location at adjacent to Bacton first and and survey KP0 to KP107 of the PL31.  The vessel will then mobilise to Sean Romeo and Sean Papa (block 49/25a), to complete the seabed and debris survey (and potential debris removal), and survey the Sean Romeo to Papa pipeline.  The vessel is in field currently.  Due to inclement weather this survey is not now expected to be completed until 17th November 2025.

Subsea Decommissioning - Western Isles Locations



Dana Petroleum (E&P) Limited has contracted Boskalis Subsea Services (BSS) for the Western Isles decommissioning project using the CSV Boka Northern Ocean.


Harris and Barra fields are located in Block 201/24a of the UKCS, 160km to the East of Shetland, and apprcximately 500km North-North East of Aberdeen. The water depth in the area varies from approximately 150m to 165m. The Western Isles production storage and offshore vessel (FPSO) has been disconnected and offstation, but production trees and water injections trees via 9-off flexible risers, 2 -off dynamic umbilical's, 2 -off bundle systems with associated spools and jumpers, 2- off mid-water arches (MWA), FPSO mooring piles, concrete mattressess remain on location. Boka Northern Ocean will carryout some of the decommissioning works commencising in early April for up to 90 days on location, note only ROV's operations from the CSV Boka Northern Ocean for this part of the project.

Offshore ROV UXO & Crossing Investigation - Southern North Sea



Mariners are advised that the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP) will be undertaking an offshore Unexploded Ordinance (UXO) Investigation survey within the southern North Sea. The survey will be conducted by the vessel 4-Winds, with mobilisation expected to commence on the 15th October 2025.


The survey will carry out targeted investigations of possible UXO targets and crossings utilising an ROV (Remote-Operated Vehicles) from >10m water depth within Block 1 to Block 5 (See Figure 1 and Table 1 in attached PDF)  

 The vessel is estimated to arrive on location on the15th October, and the survey is expected to take ~ 16 days to complete (weather dependant) Updated 24-hour and 7-day lookahead positions of the 4-Winds will be provided throughout the survey period. 

 Mariners are advised to maintain a safe distance (of at least 500m) from the survey vessel locations at all times.

Jackdaw Development - North Sea



The Jackdaw field is an ultra-high pressure/high temperature (uHPHT) reservoir that will be developed with a not permanently attended Wellhead Platform (WHP). Four wells will be drilled at the Jackdaw WHP. The export system consists of a subsea pipeline to the Shearwater platform. Vessels for 2025/2026: Deep Arctic or Deep Discoverer, Sleipnir, Seven Kestrel .


Continuation of Jackdaw Installation 2025/2026

New SSIV, tie-in spools and associated protection will be installed in the Jackdaw 500m zone between the Jackdaw Wellhead Platform and the new pipeline which was installed in 2024.

Sleipnir with associated barge and tugs working in and around the Jackdaw 500m safety zone. 

New electro-hydraulic umbilical and associated protection will be installed between Jackdaw Wellhead Platform and New Jackdaw SSIV.  Cooling Loop may be cleaned if required.

Sat 1st of November 2025 - The Deep Arctic vessel will carry out 4 hours of DP trials.

Marine Survey - Blane field



A GVI and hydrographics survey around the Blane field subsea 500 m zone expected to commence and be completed during Nov 2025 using M/S Olympic Ares


A subsea facilities inspection and hydrographics survey of the Blane infrastructure in the UKCS, to include the collection of ROV visual inspection and CP stabs of facilities and side-scan sonar (SSS) and multibeam echo-sounder (MBES) data collected across the area of the subsea 500 m zone. At its closest point, the proposed survey area is located approximately 264 kilometres (km) east of Peterhead on the Scottish coastline. The closest Blane subsea infrastructure to the UK/Norwegian median line is the Blane Production Tree PE wellhead located 0.2 km to the west. As such, the survey vessel may manoeuvre into Norwegian waters. The spatial extent of the survey area (including the greater working area) is 2.56 km2.

The survey will be conduced using the M/S Olympic Ares operated by Deep Ocean. The anticipated earliest start date for the proposed survey operations is the 31st  October 2025, with operations expected to take approximately 6 days to be completed, excluding weather downtime.  The latest completion date for the survey is the 30th November 2025, allowing for a delay to the start date.

DEME Innovation Heavy Lift Vessel removing topsides & jacket of the Boulton BM & Munro MH platforms



Harbour Energy will completely remove and recover the topsides and jacket (including risers) of the Boulton BM and Munro MH platforms using the DEME Innovation Heavy Lift Vessel. The vessel will mobilise between the 21st October – 28th October 2025 for approximately 25 days. The DEME Rollingstone fallpipe vessel will perform rock placement at Munro MH to facilitate the DEME Innovation Heavy Lift Vessel scope of work. The vessel will mobilise between 23rd – 30th October for approximately 5 days.


Harbour Energy will completely remove and recover the topsides and jacket (including risers) of the Boulton BM and Munro MH platforms using the DEME Innovation Heavy Lift Vessel, which will return the sections of platform to shore for dismantlement and recycling. The vessel will mobilise between the 21st October – 28th October 2025 for approximately 25 days.

Foinaven Buoyant Risers within Water Column

NEP Endurance Area - Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) Survey



Mariners are hereby advised that the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP) will be undertaking an Offshore Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) Survey within the southern North Sea. This survey involves the deployment of a series of PAM moorings to support ongoing environmental monitoring activities for ~ 12 months.


NtM Information Update – 29/09/2025 

 

 

Deployment has successfully carried out by the vessel BB Ocean, the vessel has returned to port to de-mobilise.  

 

 

The PAM survey consists of the placement of 12 PAM recording stations at fixed locations (via moorings anchored to seabed). All moorings will remain in place throughout the 12-month monitoring period. 

 

Equipment details are as follows: 

  • 1 x ASCR Array: 7 x moorings deployed in a closely spaced configuration (~50 m separation between ARUs) 

  • 2 x Localisation Arrays: 2 x seabed landers, within the ASCR array 

  • 3 x Standalone Devices: 3 x moorings, distributed across the survey area for wider spatial coverage 

  • 4 x cardinal marker buoys 

 

As-laid coordinates are provided in Table 1 and are illustrated in Figures 1, 2 and 3 below. Fishing vessel plotter compatible files are also included as attachments along with this notice. Mariners are advised to maintain a safe distance from the deployment locations at all times.

This is to communicate the upcoming planned rig move of the Shelf Drilling Fortress. The rig will be relocated from Queens dock Invergordon to Teal West well (block 21/24d) to carry out drilling and completions operations. Unknown Obstruction - Chestnut Field Well 16y 500m safety zone



During a recent survey an unknown obstruction was encountered at 57°56.915’N, 001°12.575’E. The vessel’s creeper was snagged on a heavy weight and lost in approximately this position. A 0.1nm exclusion zone around this was maintained during the trawl sweep operations - fishermen are recommended to keep clear.


The MV “Fruitful Harvest” PD50 has carried out a post decommissioning trawl verification sweep of the Chestnut Field concerning the locations noted below. In this area the seabed is fairly static and mostly sand and shells, in a water depth of 100-129 metres. Using best endeavours and practice available, we can confirm that at the time of these trials the majority of the swept areas were found to be safe for normal fishing operations – except the areas highlighted in the notes below.

The original submission dated 28th May indicated the Joanne Field as the destination; however, this has now been revised. The rig move is scheduled to commence on 1st September.

Installation of Mattresses (part 2) - Atlantic & Cromarty



During a survey of the Decommissioning planning we have identified the presence of 49 concrete mattresses installed along the Cromarty pipeline. These mattresses are not located in 500m zones and were installed in 2003. The locations of the matt's are identified in the co-ordinates below, noting there are multiple matt's at some locations hence why there are 15 locations and 49 mattresses.

Pipeline and Umbilical Installation (Subsea) - Belinda



Installation of oil production flowline, gas lift pipeline and service umbilical.


An 8 inch oil production flowline will be installed (trenched and buired) from the exisiting GEEBB manifold (at Triton FPSO) to the new Belinda Valve skid located approx 5km south east of Triton. A 3 inch gas pipelines (piggy backed with the 8 inch) will also be was installed the same trence. 

A servise umbilical will be installed from the existing Evelyn valve skid to the Belinda valve skid located 7km north east of Evelyn.

Notification of commencement of Bittern WI Pipeline replacement and tie in spool works as per the condition of the Consent to Locate permit.


The works shall comprise the installtion of the following subsea pipeline or cable, or system of subsewa pipelines and cables:

 

- Bittern WI pipeline replacment and tie in spool

 

Dana intend to reinstate water injection at the Bittern field through installation of a new 12” water injection pipeline between the Triton FPSO and Bittern WA and WB XTs. The pipeline will be deployed by way of a pipelay vessel and laid on the seabed. The pipeline will subsequently be trenched and buried using a jet trencher. The pipeline will be accompanied by a number of jumpers and spools to tie-in to the water injection system. Rock placement, grout bags and mattresses may be required over the length of the pipeline.

 

As part of the system, they intend to install a 33.3 m tie-in spool connecting the new water injection pipeline (PL6609) to the WB XT. A combination of grout bags and concrete mattresses will be used to protect the pipeline.

Bittern Valve Skid (BIVS) - North Sea



Notification of the commencement of the Bittern Valve Skid (BIVS)Works as per the condition of the Consent to Locate permit.


The Works shall be located at: 57 04' 58.69" N, 00 53' 20.47" E Block 21/30.

 

The structure will be loaded onto the installation vessel in Peterhead and seafastened before undertaking the short transit to the field. Upon arrival, the seabed will be prepared by the temporary installation of transponder beacons to allow accurate positioning. The ship's crane will pick up the structure and overboard it clear of any subsea assets. The vessel will then step into the desired location and lower the structure to the seabed. The ship's ROV will disconnect installation rigging and recover all transponders and a structure based gyro.

 

As the structure is required to be located within the FPSO swing circle, heading control will be arranged for the FPSO to maintain a safe clearance between the FPSO and construction vessel. Once installed no further navigation aids are required.

The semisubmersible floatel Safe Caledonia is currently located at the Captain Field, positioned on the west side of the WPP platform. The unit is secured in place using a 10-point mooring system. While the floatel itself remains well within the WPP 500-meter safety zone, the majority of its mooring lines extend significantly beyond this boundary. These mooring lines are composed of chain, fiber, and rig wire, and are supported by intermediate buoys.

Offshore Development Area - Penguins Redevelopment Project



NOTE: The Penguins Field has been granted an extension to 31/05/26. The project includes extending the life of the existing wells and addition of eight new wells. The new wells will be tied into the existing Penguins infrastructure and connected into a new FPSO. The pipeline system will be split into a North and South production pipeline, with the FPSO positioned close to the centre of the field.
